Submission Requirements

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to Nyayasetu Journal must ensure that the following requirements are complied with prior to submission:

The manuscript must be original, unpublished and not under consideration for publication in any other journal, book, website or academic platform.
The submission must relate to any branch or allied field of law, including constitutional law, criminal law, corporate law, intellectual property law, technology law, international law, public policy, arbitration and other legal disciplines.
Manuscripts must be written in clear academic UK English and must demonstrate structured legal reasoning, proper research methodology and analytical discussion.
The manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
The main text must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and standard margins and Heading font size 16 and Sub-Heading font size 14.
Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single spacing and must follow a consistent legal citation format throughout the manuscript.
Each submission must include the full name of the author, institutional affiliation (if any), professional designation (if applicable) and contact email address.
In the case of joint authorship, details of all contributing authors must be clearly mentioned.
Every manuscript must contain an abstract of approximately 150–250 words summarising the objective, scope and conclusions of the research work.
The abstract must be followed by 4 to 6 relevant keywords identifying the subject area of the manuscript.
The manuscript must fall within the prescribed word limits for the relevant category of submission, namely:
- Research Paper: 4,000 – 8,000 words
- Dissertation Submission: 8,000 – 15,000 words
- Thesis Submission: 15,000 – 25,000 words ( Tentative)
All references, quotations, case laws, statutory provisions and academic sources must be properly cited and acknowledged in accordance with accepted legal citation standards.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism, academic misconduct or improper attribution of sources.
All submissions will be subject to editorial screening, plagiarism detection and peer review before any decision regarding publication is made.
Authors must ensure that any third-party copyrighted material (including tables, figures, images or extended extracts) used in the manuscript has the necessary permissions for publication.
Submission of a manuscript shall be deemed to constitute the author’s acceptance of the Journal’s submission guidelines, publication ethics and copyright policies.
Manuscripts must be submitted through the official submission channel or designated editorial email of Nyayasetu Journal, along with the required author details and supporting information.

Manuscript Formatting

Authors submitting manuscripts to Nyayasetu Journal must ensure that the manuscript complies with the following formatting requirements prior to submission:

The manuscript must be prepared and submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
The main body of the text must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
Headings must be in Times New Roman, font size 16, and Sub-headings must be in Times New Roman, font size 14, clearly distinguishing the structure of the manuscript.
Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing.
The manuscript must follow standard page margins of 1 inch on all sides.
The title of the manuscript must be bold and centre-aligned, clearly reflecting the subject matter of the research.
The text of the manuscript must be justified for uniform formatting and readability.
Each manuscript must include an abstract of 150–250 words, summarising the objective, scope and key findings of the research.
The abstract must be followed by 4 to 6 keywords indicating the primary subject area of the manuscript.
The manuscript must follow a clear and logical structure, using appropriate headings and sub-headings wherever necessary.
All references, case laws, statutes, quotations and academic sources must be properly cited through footnotes, using a consistent legal citation format.
Any tables, figures, charts or diagrams used in the manuscript must be clearly labelled and properly referenced within the text.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from grammatical errors, typographical mistakes and formatting inconsistencies.
The manuscript must represent original academic work and must be free from plagiarism or improper attribution of sources.
Where applicable, acknowledgements or disclosures relating to research assistance, institutional support or funding may be included in a separate note.

Compliance with these formatting requirements is necessary to facilitate efficient editorial screening, peer review and publication preparation within Nyayasetu Journal. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request formatting corrections before proceeding with the review process.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Nyayasetu are subject to a structured and impartial peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality and scholarly integrity. The review process shall be conducted in accordance with the following procedure

Upon receipt of a manuscript, the Editorial Board shall conduct a preliminary editorial screening to determine whether the submission falls within the scope of the Journal and complies with the prescribed submission and formatting guidelines.
The manuscript shall thereafter undergo plagiarism screening and academic integrity verification, including similarity checks and, where required, AI-content verification.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary screening stage shall be forwarded for peer review evaluation by qualified legal professionals, academicians or subject experts in the relevant field of law.
The Journal follows a double-blind peer review process, wherein the identity of the author shall not be disclosed to the reviewer and the identity of the reviewer shall not be disclosed to the author.
Reviewers shall evaluate the manuscript on the basis of originality of research, quality of legal analysis, research methodology, relevance of legal authorities, citation accuracy, clarity of arguments and overall scholarly contribution.
The reviewer may provide one of the following recommendations to the Editorial Board:
- Acceptance of the manuscript for publication
- Acceptance subject to minor revisions
- Acceptance subject to major revisions
- Rejection of the manuscript
Where revisions are recommended, the manuscript shall be returned to the author for necessary corrections or modifications within the timeframe specified by the Editorial Board.
The Editorial Board shall review the revised manuscript and determine whether the revisions satisfactorily address the reviewer’s comments before making a final publication decision.
The review and evaluation process ordinarily takes between seven (7) days and thirty (30) days, depending upon the complexity and subject matter of the manuscript.
The final decision regarding acceptance, revision or rejection of a manuscript shall rest with the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief.
All manuscripts and reviewer communications shall be treated with strict confidentiality throughout the review and editorial process.

Through this structured peer review mechanism, Nyayasetu Journal seeks to ensure fair academic evaluation, maintain publication integrity and uphold the highest standards of legal research and scholarship.

Publication Ethics

Nyayasetu is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency and ethical conduct in legal research and scholarly publication. All authors, reviewers, editors and contributors associated with the Journal are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal must represent original and unpublished work and must not be simultaneously submitted to or under consideration by any other journal, publication or academic platform.
Authors must ensure that all sources, references, case laws, statutes, quotations and academic materials used in the manuscript are properly cited and acknowledged in accordance with accepted legal citation standards.
The Journal maintains a strict policy against plagiarism, academic misconduct and research fraud. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarised content, fabricated data or improper attribution of sources may be rejected during the editorial review process.
All submissions shall be subject to plagiarism detection and academic integrity verification, and the Editorial Board may also conduct AI-content verification where necessary.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript does not infringe the copyright, intellectual property rights or proprietary rights of any third party.
In cases of joint authorship, all listed authors must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the manuscript and must approve the final version prior to submission.
Authors must disclose any conflict of interest, financial or otherwise, that may influence the research, interpretation or conclusions presented in the manuscript.
Reviewers participating in the peer review process must conduct their evaluation in an objective, impartial and confidential manner, without personal bias or conflict of interest.
Editors and members of the Editorial Board shall evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, relevance and scholarly contribution, without discrimination based on nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, professional status or personal beliefs.
Any ethical concerns, errors or inaccuracies discovered after publication may be addressed by the Editorial Board through appropriate measures, including corrections, editorial notes, or withdrawal of the publication where necessary.
Authors submitting manuscripts to Nyayasetu Journal shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to comply with the Journal’s publication ethics, submission policies and academic integrity standards. Through adherence to these ethical principles, Nyayasetu Journal seeks to promote responsible legal scholarship, academic transparency and the integrity of legal research publications.

Publication Processing and Payment Policy

Nyayasetu Journal provides structured publication processing options to accommodate both standard editorial timelines and expedited publication requests, while ensuring adherence to academic and editorial standards.
Under the Standard Publication Process, manuscripts that are accepted for publication shall ordinarily be processed and published in accordance with the Journal’s regular editorial workflow. The publication processing charge for standard publication shall be ₹5,500, which includes essential publication services such as assignment of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), editorial editing and formatting of the manuscript, indexing preparation, issuance of a digital publication certificate, digital archival hosting, and provision of a plagiarism verification report. The processing and publication of manuscripts under this category shall be undertaken within the normal publication schedule of the Journal.

Authors who require accelerated publication may opt for the Fast-Track or Urgent Publication Process. Under this category, manuscripts that have successfully completed the editorial screening, plagiarism verification, and peer review process may be prioritised for publication within a shorter timeframe. The publication processing charge for urgent or fast-track publication shall be ₹7,500, which shall include all services provided under the standard publication process, together with additional expedited editorial handling and priority publication scheduling.

The applicable publication charges are intended to cover editorial management, manuscript preparation, digital publication services, and archival maintenance undertaken by the Journal. Payment of publication processing charges shall not influence or guarantee acceptance of any manuscript, as all submissions are subject to the Journal’s editorial policies, academic evaluation, and peer review procedures.

Nyayasetu Journal reserves the right to manage publication timelines and editorial scheduling in accordance with its administrative policies and the availability of space within the respective Journal volume.
